Matt Engel’s Bio

MATTHEW A. ENGEL, born in St. Paul, Minnesota, is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College (1998, Criminal Justice/Psychology) and William Mitchell College of Law (2001, J.D.).

Matt worked as a law clerk with the firm of Sjoberg & Tebelius, P.A. from 1998 until he graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in May of 2001. He became an associate with Sjoberg & Tebelius, P.A. in 2001 after passing the bar and receiving his Minnesota Attorney License. He continued to practice with the firm until June of 2002, when he opened The Law Office of Matthew A. Engel, PLLC in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

Matt is a member of the American, Minnesota and Hennepin County Bar Associations. He practices in a variety of areas, including business law and litigation, employment and real estate law, estate planning, probate, and commercial litigation.

Matt and his wife Melissa, a stay at home mom and former teacher in the Minneapolis Public School District and also a 1998 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College, reside in Maple Grove. They have 1 child, Ruby, who was born in April, 2004. Matt has served and participated in various areas at Living Word Christian Center, including the Married Couples Group, Fresh Manna Bible Study and Living Word Martial Arts.
